Came here with my friend to catch up over dinner! First off the service was great and the servers were kind and attentive. The restaurant itself has a good amount of seating so we didn't wait too long. Definitely a nice place to come for some comforting Korean food! Dumpling Tofu Soup 8/10 - Came with some sides which tasted fresh. The soup itself was excellent! Definitely one of the better sundubu's I've had! The price of the soup itself seemed a bit expensive to me but perhaps this is the normal going rate these days as I've seen the prices on these go up over the years! Inflation :( Yang Nyum Chicken 8.5/10 - Let me just say wow, the sweet chili sauce on the chicken is very good! The chicken was crispy and wasn't too spicy. Definitely getting your hands dirty a bit with this one but it's worth. Would highly recommend! My friend and I enjoyed our meal here and I would recommend this place if you're looking for some solid Korean food!

I never thought to come in here until a friend said she was craving Korean food. Looking over the menu, how do you decide what to get, there is a lot to choose from. We had a group of 4, 3 of us had never been here so we completely over ordered. To start we ordered: Kimchi pancake Mung bean pancake Chicken wings: regular and soy garlic Soju cocktail I didn't try the mung bean, but the Kimchi pancake was the perfect balance of crispy outside and soft inside. Those that tried the mung bean pancake also loved it. The chicken wings were very big, our favorite was the soy garlic one. It seemed pricey for wings but there were worth it. Not sure what cocktail we got, but it was delicious. For our mains, a friend and I shared the Del Sot Bi Bim Bop, it came with their original tofu soup The Bi Bim Bop was lacking in flavor, I figured for over $20, it would taste good, but it was a bit disappointing, the savior of the meal was the tofu soup, I had never had tofu soup before and this was amazing!!! It was so good I ordered it the next day for delivery. Pro tip: it's way better in the clay pot when you dine in. The service was great and attentive. They made sure our waters were filled and that we had everything we needed.

WOW! Took me right back to my days in Seoul, eating a steamy, spicy bowl of 김치찌개 while it rained outside. The vibe of this restaurant is classic Korean style -- K-pop on the TV, water in the plastic jug with the soju ads, and wide tables with plenty of space for the rotating selection of banchan (don't worry though, they always include kimchi). If you were to ask me to take you to the most authentic feeling Korean joint, this would be #1 on the list. Okay, now the food -- ho. ly. smokes! Everything was delicious and extremely high quality. The sizzling dolsat bibimbap and bulgogi were highlights, though the kimchi pancake was amazing as well (and not too spicy whatsoever!). We were pleasantly surprised to have a complimentary bowl of tofu soup included in the meal, and were so glad we didn't miss out on it -- there's a reason they're called the tofu house. The kimchi tofu soup was INCREDIBLE! We could choose our spice level (I went for medium) and it made for seriously the most unforgettable meal. I savored every bite! We didn't realize that the meals came with a side of rice in a big stone pot, so in hindsight we felt like we could've skipped the bibimbap and still had a very filling meal. It ended up being fine though, as it just meant I had more leftovers to take home for lunch the next day! :) Service was great and helped us get all the to-go boxes we needed. One thing to keep in mind is that because the food is really high quality, the price tag is a bit steeper than other Korean restaurants are in Temescal. However, between the quality and quantity of the food we really felt like we were the ones getting the better end of the bargain. I do think that the larger the group, the easier you might be able to bear the cost and try all of the incredible dishes. I'm not too proud to say that I enjoyed the meal so much that I went back a week later and ordered takeout! This place lives up to the hype and is somewhere I'd highly recommend for anyone in the mood for real, hearty, authentic 한국음식.

After landing in Oakland, we headed straight to this spot and walked in right when they opened their doors during evening hours at 5pm. We walked into a dining room that can accommodate small to large parties. The Banchan arrived first which included four unlimited sides, which included sprouts, kimchi, pickled spicy cucumbers, and soft potatoes. Our favorite was the cucumbers which paired well with the meal. Starving, we ordered the Soy Sauce and Fresh Garlic Chicken Wings that came with a small side of Daikon. A half order comes with 10 wings. The wings were delicious! They were crispy, meaty, and so flavorful. This was a non spicy dish. We also tried the Kim Chi Bi Bim Bap with Beef. The dish arrived piping hot with a fried egg on top. A comforting rice dish topped with kimchi, carrots. spinach, sprouts, and beef. You'll get to enjoy the crispy rice once you reach the bottom. A side of tofu soup was included and I ordered it mild. The broth was spicy and flavorful, filled with tofu. I saved most of it to take home. Finally, we tried the tofu dumpling soup, which arrived bubbling hot. The Stew contained beef and kimchi dumplings and was totally what we were looking for when picking a dinner spot. Overall, great services and delicious food! The area is filled with many Korean options and we were happy to have found this spot.
